FREE NIGHT DIVING EVENT: The Who, What, Where, When and How to join

Local Night Dive Meet Up - Stonington

 

Who: Instructors & Divemasters affiliated with New England Dive.

When: Every Month May-October. (Sign up Here)

Where: Dubois Beach -Stonington, CT. (Get Directions)

Cost: FREE, however gratuities for guidance from the Instructor & Dive master staff are appreciated. 

How: Are you a Currently a certified night diver? Then sign up, grab your scuba gear & dive lights then meet us there! 

Not a certified Night Diver yet? Increase your knowledge and take a night diving course with us! You can complete parts of your learning prior to the event, then finish your certification dives on site at the event.  

**Note: Divers should show up self-sufficient with all of their own equipment. If rental gear or dive lights are needed, please contact the training department at New England Dive.

What will I see on a night dive?

On a night dive, you may encounter bioluminescent plankton, hunting octopuses, squid, and other fascinating nocturnal creatures. The ocean also take on a different appearance under the cover of darkness, with colors and textures that seem to come alive in the beam of your dive light. Each night dive is a new adventure, full of surprises and wonders waiting to be discovered.

What skills should I know while night diving?

Before embarking on a night dive, it's essential to be proficient in buoyancy control, navigation, and communication with your dive buddy. You'll also learn how to use specialized dive lights effectively and how to manage potential challenges that may arise in low visibility conditions. Is Night Diving Dangerous? 

Well, there is risk involved in all scuba diving, which is why it’s important to be properly trained and prepared for the dive you’re planning. Night diving definitely comes with its own set of challenges. But completing the Night Diver specialty course guides you through these challenges and prepares you to enter a world that is like being in another world.
