Local Events

There is some great diving right in our own backyard of New England. We dive several sites in Connecticut, but once you move out of long island sound towards Rhode Island or Massachusetts the visibility gets clearer and the drive isn’t that far. We utilize a variety of open water locations from oceans, to lakes and quarries. New England Dive also hosts group social events throughout the summer. These events are to acquaint divers with the site if it is their first time there, and for local divers to meet one another and make future dive buddies friends. Don’t have a buddy? Come anyway we will help pair you up with one.

A few of these dive sites are:

  • Fort Wetherill
  • Fort Getty
  • Cape Ann
  • Dutch Springs
  • Brownstone
  • Stonington
  • Beavertail
  • King's Beach

New England Dive is always filling an aggressive boat diving schedule for the dive season. When diving off the boat you'll get better offshore visibility as well as seeing some exciting shipwrecks.

Long Island Sound is littered with sunken vessels of all types. Our Dive charters run throughout the summer to let divers admire these beauties in their final resting place. Please call 203.284.1880 for charter dates and destinations aboard the Thunderfish with Captain William Palmer. These dive charters will range in depths from 20-120 ft. Deeper dives available upon request. Space will be limited to 6 passengers per dive so we advise to sign up early. All dive charters will be 2-tank dives meaning we dive once do a surface interval and dive again. The fee for the charter is $100 + tip for the mate.

Captain William Palmer also produces a variety of DVD's telling the tales of various shipwrecks along the east coast. They are available for purchace at New England Dive for $19.95 each.

Some of the DVD's available Include:

  • U-853
  • Blackpoint
  • U-85

If you'd like to see all that the area has to offer we recommend books for the New England dive enthusiast both available at our shop.
